Jewellery and accessories for the slightly strange

Aside from blood and gore jewellery/fashion, I've also been working on making belt buckles.

I decided to get into this earlier in the year when I was having a talk with a friend on msn and we were saying that despite living in different countries (he lives in America) that we should do some sort of a collaboration, using my jewellery and his chain-mail.

We decided that the best thing we could do,

that we would both benefit from would be belt

s/buckles, since we both wear them, and a buckle is easily reproduced through casting.

We decided on an image of a wolf skull as the

buckle, which I would make, and he would make the belts. There would be two castings of the buckle, and he would simply make two belts.

Here is the design for the buckle I came up with.

It's been cast in bronze, because that is a comfortable weight, and is very tough, which is how this needs to be, it needs to be able to withstand

some ba

shing around. This however is not 100% finished yet, as I still need to solder on the back plate and the actual buckle parts.

This is the second buckle I went on to make, once again a wolf skull, although from a different angle this time.

This was not part of the collaboration, it was just because I decided that I liked making buckles.

Once again, another buckle, bronze cast, and this was just because I was really enjoying making them. It looks strange because although it's based on a wolf skull at the same angle as the above picture, it is based on a more brken/decayed skull.

Well, I'll update as I finish these pieces off.

Well, as promised, an update!

I not long ago developed a range of jewellery that is styles around blood drops, and drips. Entitled the "Splatter range" all 5 pieces

are made from copper, and I had them powder-coated in a rick deep red, the closest red that was available in powder coating.

The two long pieces that you see at the bottom of the picture are a hook design, more like that of a tie-clip than that of a brooch, they sit comfortably on a collar of a t-shirt, or as I have them currently, on a bag.

The top three are more classic designed brooches, on the back is a simple sterling silver hand made brooch pin, so those can be worn normally on anything.

Currently I'm working on some anatomy design inspired pieces, a corset with a rib cage that sits over the top, leggings that have the anatomy of the legs printed on them, and my personal favorite, anatomy gloves. The gloves are going to be ful

l length formal type design gloves, but just with anatomy on them.

Here is my design for them.

Hopefully, I will have pictures of the gloves and leggings to share by next week.

Greetings and salutations!

First off, let me tell you a little about myself, I'm currently finishing a two year course at TAFE, Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology, Jewellery. This finishes in November, which means as of then, I'm unleashed on an unsuspecting public...

I live in Melbourne, Australia; and do my course at Box Hill Institute.

My jewellery style has changed over the last two years, but I primarily work in silver, usually oxidizing it black/antique colouring.
I'm delving into fashion a little more than I thought I would when I became interested in making jewellery, but I suppose it is a natural progression, since the industries are so closely related.

My current style is much more gothic/punk, closer to my own personal style than what I have made in the past, and I will soon be looking for some places to sell through.

Now for a little taste of my style, promise, future posts will be a little more... professional?
